Is bariatric surgery covered by insurance?
Yes, it is. Each insurance company has different requirements but almost all insurance companies will cover weight loss surgery if you meet the BMI requirements. However, some insurance plans have an exclusion policy that specifically states they will not cover weight loss surgery. The best way to find out is to speak with your insurance company directly, or with your human resources office at your workplace. If you aren’t sure where to start, please call us at 212-824-2350 and we can help you figure it out!
Can I have visitors while I’m in the hospital?
It is OK for you to have visitors now. Visitors should come to the main entrance of the Guggenheim building at 1468 Madison Avenue. Visting hours are 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Your visitor can stay for up to 4 hours. Let your visitor know that they will be asked some screening questions about Covid-19 such as whether they have a cough or fever. After your visitors check in, they will be given additional instructions and any personal protective equipment as needed. For more information about the visiting policy, please click here.
How long will I stay in the hospital?
